Mayoral 'Conversation' on City Finances
I have been in touch with the four Mayoral challengers regarding the need to hold events to address specific topics of interest to New Haven. The challengers have all agreed to participate in additional events, and have agreed the first topic will be City Finances. We are waiting on Mayor Harp before we finalize the date and time.
The event will run between 90 and 120 minutes, and cover one topic: City Finances. The format will allow for 2.5 minute opening and closing statements from each candidate. Questions will be provided in advance in writing so the candidates can come prepared. The candidates themselves, as well as the public, will be allowed to suggest topics and questions. The candidates will be able to discuss the questions and answers with one another. A moderator will ensure the candidates receive equal/fair time. We are envisioning a 'conversation' - a civil, respectful dialogue and exchange of ideas among the candidates.
